Overview of FloWorks Library Objects
FloWorks objects
These objects are added to the library by the FloWorks module, a 3rd party module developed and maintained by Talumis BV. These objects provide faster and more accurate modelling and calculation of fluid systems than the default FlexSim fluid library.
| Name and Icon | Description |
|---|---|
Flow Control![]() | See the Flow Control reference page for more information. |
Flow Source![]() | The flow source creates fluid material for a model, similar to a source. The source continuously generates flow unless its output is blocked. See the Flow Source reference page for more information. |
Flow Sink![]() | The flow sink continuously removes fluid materials from the model at a given rate, unless its input is blocked. See the Flow Sink reference page for more information. |
Flow Tank, Flow Polygon Tank, Flow Pile![]() ![]() | The flow tank is the main content storing object in FloWorks. Its appearance is configurable, but two predefined visualizations in the form of a square tank and a conical pile are available. See the Flow Tanks reference page for more information. |
Flow Blender![]() | Merges flows from multiple sources, adjusting all flows as necessary to maintain a fixed ratio in the incoming flow rates. See the Flow Blender reference page for more information. |
Flow Splitter![]() | Splits a flow to multiple sources, adjusting all flows as necessary to maintain a fixed ratio in the outgoing flow rates. See the Flow Splitter reference page for more information. |
Flow Pump, Flow Valve![]() ![]() | The flow pump and flow valve are mostly used to control flow rates and may be included in a model to realistically modelling your system. See the Flow Pump and Valve reference page for more information. |
Flow Mixer![]() | The flow mixer collects ingredients from multiple input sources, then mixes them into a final product and releases that product. See the Flow Mixer reference page for more information. |
Flow Pipe![]() | The flow pipe can contain various consecutive batches of products that are pushed out by entering material. See the Flow Pipe reference page for more information. |
(Mass) Flow Conveyor![]() | The flow conveyor is a non-accumulating flow conveyor that will block when the output is restricted. The massflow conveyor is its accumulating cousin. See the Flow Conveyors reference page for more information. |
Flow To Item![]() | The flow to item object converts incoming flow into flow items that it sends downstream to a fixed resource. See the Flow To Item reference page for more information. |
Item To Flow![]() | The item to flow receives flow items and converts them to fluid material that is released as if coming from a flow tank. See the Item To Flow reference page for more information. |
Loading Arm![]() | The loading arm controls loading of compartments on a flow task executer, modelling for example (un)loading vessels or trucks from a fixed tank. See the Loading Arm reference page for more information. |
These following objects are not flow objects themselves, but are used to interact with FloWorks objects.
Shared Resource![]() | The shared resource represents a constraint across multiple otherwise disjoint flow networks, for example an incinerator required by two separate production lines. See the Shared Resource reference page for more information. |
Multi-compartment Loading Controller![]() | The multi-compartment loading controller ties together several loading arms to provide simultaneous (or consecutive) loading of more than one tank on a vessel or truck. See the Multi-Compartment Loading Controller reference page for more information. |
Loading Point, Berth![]() ![]() | The loading point provides a docking station for trucks to load. It is usually used in combination with a loading arm. The berth is a variation - mostly visual - tailored for vessels. See the Loading Point reference page for more information. |
